Wow, that’s fast!

for Q8, is there a mistake for velocity of Q?
may i know is it supposed to be t + (t^2)/4?
which also means distance travelled by Q is (t^2)/2 + (t^3)/12
and the distance from O at which Q collides with P is 216m
Posted on October 29th, 2010 at 17:00
and the speed of P is 27m/s
speed of Q is 48 m/s..?

is there any error carried forward?
for example, question 7i). my Q coordinates are wrong and my equation is wrong.
But my following steps to find the area are correct. Do i still get the 6marks for 7ii)?
Posted on October 29th, 2010 at 17:03
Q9ii, equation of BD i think there is a typo
y = -2x + 30 instead of y = -2x +10

J: Thank you for pointing out the mistakes, updating now!
Cheryl: Yes, there’s error carried forward. That means that you will get the relevant method marks.

I don’t get (11i) Why is it (5, pi/2) shldnt it be (pi/2 , 5)
Posted on October 29th, 2010 at 17:22
MintRainbow: You are right! It should be (pi/2, 5) instead. Similarly, the other coordinates should be swapped around.
Do check out the updated solutions!

lol. question 8 wrong le.
Posted on October 29th, 2010 at 17:34
hi can you please confirm the ans for Q7
Posted on October 29th, 2010 at 18:19
The question 11iii the x-coordinate of d I got 0.515 instead of 0.516. Will I get wrong?
Posted on October 29th, 2010 at 18:27
qn10 iii If i omit x>-1/2 issit a -1?
Posted on October 29th, 2010 at 18:28
as in issit minus one mark
Posted on October 29th, 2010 at 19:12
Oh my god. I thought my answer for question 8 was wrong. Thank god. 88 marks!

Paper 2 IS harder than paper 1, I think.
Posted on October 29th, 2010 at 23:41
Hopefully A1 is overall 80%
:D Even with error carry forward you cannot get the full mark for that question right?
Posted on October 30th, 2010 at 01:01
I agree that paper 2 is harder than paper 1.. i hope A1 would be overall not too far from 80..
Posted on October 30th, 2010 at 09:22
For Qn 11iii), i also got 0.515 instead of 0.516……..anyway overall i find paper 2 easier than paper 1. Paper 1 was super hard…

For 10(iii), since the partial fractions were intergrated seperately, shouldn’t there be two arbitary constants? And these two arbitary constants shouldn’t be the same c right? Anyway paper 1
Posted on October 30th, 2010 at 17:43
what do you think the A1 mark will be ?
Posted on October 30th, 2010 at 19:40
@Me, Anonymous: Its called a truncuation error, you will not be penalised
@Woots: Don’t think so. They never asked for the range of values of x. the x>-1/2 is just to make the answer more complete.
@JAmes: most likely 83%-84% i think?
Posted on October 30th, 2010 at 19:41
paper 2 is much more easier than paper 1 i think. paper 1 was abcdefg -.-

If for question 3 i got the first equation wrong, but the second equation conversion right, and my steps to solve the simultaneous equation were correct, do i got error crried forward?
Posted on October 30th, 2010 at 21:14
OMG ! I GOT 97 MARKS ! ^^
Posted on October 30th, 2010 at 23:38
@Jane: Yes, you will get those marks, but for simultaneous equations, there isn’t alot of marks for ecf. I’d say the absolute maximum for that question you could get is 5.
Posted on October 31st, 2010 at 22:59
Just wondering, if getting around 70-75 marks, what will the grade be?
Posted on October 31st, 2010 at 23:05
@Greg: Probably (most likely) a B3 in that range. If you’re extremely lucky, A2.

Indeed this paper is easy for most of you? I find it tough! Paper 1 is better!
Posted on November 1st, 2010 at 21:03
i find this paper 2 is rather easy… somehow it was much easier than paper 1…
Posted on November 1st, 2010 at 22:14
Paper 1 should be found easier, you know. but depends on which topics you’re good at ^^
Posted on November 4th, 2010 at 16:25
maybe ba… i made too much careless mistake in P1…
Posted on November 4th, 2010 at 22:05
anyways still must jiayou!!
